Dyaan is a small, independent geospatial-intelligence tool. Draw or search an area anywhere on Earth and it reads that exact patch from public Earth-observation archives — surface water, water quality, vegetation, land cover, terrain, flood exposure, encroachment, air quality, weather, wildfire activity and waste hotspots — and reports what the pixels actually show. Every figure is either counted from a real raster or clearly labelled as a modelled sample; nothing is invented to look tidier than the data. Why Dyaan exists
Most satellite and geospatial tools sit behind logins, licences and per-query pricing that put real Earth-observation data out of reach for the people who most need a quick, honest answer — a resident checking whether a local lake has shrunk, a journalist verifying a claim about forest loss, a planner sizing up flood exposure before a decision gets made. Dyaan reads only free, public, keyless archives — Copernicus Sentinel-2, the JRC Global Surface Water record, NASA FIRMS, ESA WorldCover, the Copernicus DEM and OpenStreetMap — so a real, reproducible answer is available to anyone, at no cost, for the areas we currently focus on: India and the UAE, alongside case studies from further afield.
How we work
- No synthetic numbers. A headline figure is counted from pixels or labelled a model sample — see the one rule that governs every analysis.
- No paid data. Every source Dyaan reads is public and keyless. If a source requires a private API key or a paid licence, it isn't in the tool.
- Reproducible. The same area and the same public archive return the same number — you can rerun any figure in the tool yourself.
- Field notes, not press releases. The field notes are automatically generated write-ups of real analyses Dyaan has run — not marketing copy, and not human opinion dressed up as data.
What Dyaan is not
Dyaan is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NASA, the European Commission, the Joint Research Centre, ESA, MET Norway or the OpenStreetMap Foundation — it is an independent product that reads their public data under its published terms. Dyaan is a screening and awareness tool, not a survey-grade instrument: it is well suited to spotting change and asking better questions, not to replacing a licensed land or environmental survey where one is legally required.
